About Cedar Crest
To make disciples of Jesus Christ throughout the Lehigh Valley and among the nations—especially Unreached People Groups.
We Are a Praying Church.
Every Sunday is a day of prayer.
Every home is a place of prayer.
Every work of service is surrounded by prayer.
“It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer…’’
We Are a Caring Church.
Every heart is moved by the needs of others.
“When (Jesus) saw the crowds, he had compassion for them…”
We Are a Serving Church.
Everyone serving the church.
Everyone serving the world.
“… but through love serve one another.” Galatians. 5:13
We Are a Speaking Church.
Everyone is trained in personal evangelism.
Everyone has the ability to speak of Christ.
“… proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”
We Are a Training Church.
Everyone is discipling and being discipled.
“Go therefore and make disciples…”
What We Believe
While rooted first and foremost in Scripture, we believe the central truths of the Bible have been faithfully summarized in the Statement of Faith found in the Faith and Order of the Bible Fellowship Church. Meet The Team
Cliff has been our preaching pastor since 2002 and leads our team of staff and elders. He was formerly a missionary among an Unreached People Group in rural Tanzania. He graduated from West Virginia University, Columbia Biblical Seminary and holds a Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Wales; has authored two books and has translated several others into Swahili. He and his wife Becky have been married over 30 years and have three adult children who are serving the Lord.
Senior Associate Pastor
Glenn came to Cedar Crest in 2003, where he now oversees our Global Outreach and Leadership Training. He previously served as principal of an MK school in Venezuela for 13 years, as a pastor in Clifton, NJ for 10 years, and on the home staff of the mission agency TEAM for 13 years. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute, Columbia International University, Houghton College, and Azusa Pacific University. Glenn’s favorite pastimes are tennis, fishing, and reading. He has been married to Shirley for over 50 years. They have three adult children and three grandchildren.
Jonathan has been on the Cedar Crest staff since 2004. He oversees the College and Young Adult ministries, as well as All of Life Discipleship Institute. Jonathan feels blessed to be in the ministry and is passionate about missions and discipleship. He sees great value in investing his life in others. On a personal level, he enjoys time with his family, traveling overseas and watching and playing sports. He and his wife, Simona, have a daughter, Payton.
John joined the staff in September 2016 after serving the church as a Deacon, Elder and Missionary. He graduated from Cairn University and directs our LIFEgroup and Assimilation ministries. John loves people and desires to see them immersed in Christian fellowship; strengthening their walk with Jesus and loving and serving one another in ways that express a vibrant witness to the lost. John and his wife Nancy have three married children and six wonderful grandchildren.
Director of Worship
As Director of Worship & Music Ministries, Tim Schaeffer has been faithfully serving at CCBFC for over 30 years. A 1972 graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Tim with his passion for worship, remains true to our traditional music roots while at the same time, connecting enthusiastically with current worship music. On any given Sunday you’ll find him directing our thriving 45-voice Heritage Service Choir and singing on our Celebration Service Worship Team. On days off you’ll find Tim pursuing another passion—photography, which he refers to as his “photo-therapy”.
Ben has spent over 10 years training church leaders and volunteers in evangelism, children’s ministry and leadership. He joined the Cedar Crest team in 2014, where he currently serves alongside our amazing team of children’s ministry leaders. He enjoys teaching, asking a lot of questions and trying to solve as many problems as possible.
Chris Von Holt
Chris placed his faith in Christ as a young boy. In high school, Chris drifted from Christ; but after his junior year, God used the preaching of His Word at camp to capture his heart. Chris then pursued preparation for vocational ministry through heavy local church involvement, two internships, and earning a B.A in Theological and Pastoral Studies. He and his wife Courtney have a son named Theodore. His passion is encouraging others to pursue Christ as their treasure through expositional preaching/teaching and deep and meaningful relationships.
