This summer at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church will be different than previous years and hopefully those that come hereafter. Due to the building project many of the rooms that are normally used for Sunday School and VBS will instead be storing furniture or in a state of renovation. Because of this, we will need to adjust our programs to fit within the available rooms. Therefore, the Elders have approved the following changes during the months of July and August:
1. There will be no Sunday School Classes during the months of July and August. The one exception will be an adult class taught by Jack Riggall during the second service.
2. Vacation Bible School will not be conducted this summer.
3. Small Groups meeting in classrooms will not be facilitated during July and August.
However, This does not mean that ministry will cease during the summer. Nursery for children up to age 3 will continue to be provided for both services, although a new, renovated nursery will be completed shortly. Junior Worship for children ages 4 through 3rd grade will meet during the entire first worship service in the chapel. Parents will be encouraged to drop off their children at the Chapel and then pick them up after the service. Since individual Sunday School classes are not possible, there will be a new children’s program to accommodate our worshipers during the second worship service. This program, Children’s Community, for children who have been in 1st through 4th grades, will be held in the Chapel and this will be different than Junior Worship. Pre-School Community, for children ages 4 and 5, will meet in Room 102 during the second worship service.
During July and August the Fellowship Hall will become a gathering place for people to fellowship, enjoy coffee and tea, mingle and renew relationships during what would have normally been their Sunday School hour.
All of this ends on August 31st when, if construction goes as planned, there will be an open house for all of the new children’s Sunday School classrooms for the beginning of the fall Sunday School program.
